Here at Orchard Park, we firmly believe that Christian women are compassionate with godly wisdom. They choose to act, to be voices proclaiming a better way, to be hands making a tangible difference, to work toward spiritually strengthening people already in the membership as well as the non-members in the community.

As Christian women, we are committed to changing the world through prayer and sharing our faith in the Lord. The Bible gives great insight into our role as women. Biblical women were entrepreneurs, judges, homemakers, and Bible teachers to list only a few. As Christian women, we are called to live our lives in terms of the great potential for the development and use of our God-given abilities. Our goal is to assist the church in meeting the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of women in their various stages of life and cultural background while providing a spiritual climate for growth.

We endeavor to accomplish this through:

  • Leading women into a more intimate relationship with Christ
  • Providing encouragement, comfort, support to the dispirited
  • Strengthening and equipping women for service
  • Teaching women effectiveness in ministry

As our model, Jesus ministered to women, restoring their self-worth and value as human beings. Women in our local church and local community face increasingly complex needs and so OPC makes women’s ministries a key priority in our church. We are commissioned to use the talents and opportunities God has given us to fulfill His eternal plan. Recognizing the benefits that women’s gifts bring to the church body, the Women’s ministries department involves encouraging women to discover and use their spiritual and intellectual gifts for the glory of God and comfort of the membership.
