At Orchard Park we desire Sabbath worship to be more than just an event that people attend, but something to be experienced through the day. We seek to offer more than just a place to study the Bible and hear a sermon for an hour on Sabbath. We want to create an environment where the people of God can experience fellowship with each other. One of the ways we do this is through having lunch together on Saturday. Visitors and guests are welcomed to join us for a great time to reconnect with friends and to meet new ones. We invite you to experience the difference fellowship can make.
As you can imagine, this ministry takes a small army of volunteers. We are always looking for people who would be willing to serve in this ministry. There are several ways you can get involved:
- First, support this ministry with your presence. What many people don’t realize is that this ministry is not about food; it is about fellowship. Attend the lunch each week or as often as you can and look for people who you don’t know or may be sitting by themselves. Sit down and introduce yourself and begin a conversation and before you know it, you will have a new friend.
- Second, we always need people who are willing to serve one Sabbath every other month to help prepare and serve food. If you think this is something you would like to do, we will be happy to place you in a hospitality team of 4 to 6 people who would love to have the help.
- Third, once lunch is over, the hospitality team cleans the Serving Room and the Kitchen, but there is another team that helps clean the Fellowship Hall. These cleanup crews are assigned one Sabbath a month and take responsibility to make sure all the tables are cleaned, trash is thrown away and everything is put away.
