At Orchard Park we desire Sab­bath wor­ship to be more than just an event that peo­ple attend, but some­thing to be expe­ri­enced through the day.  We seek to offer more than just a place to study the Bible and hear a ser­mon for an hour on Sab­bath.  We want to cre­ate an envi­ron­ment where the peo­ple of God can expe­ri­ence fel­low­ship with each other.  One of the ways we do this is through hav­ing lunch together on Sat­ur­day.  Vis­i­tors and guests are wel­comed to join us for a great time to recon­nect with friends and to meet new ones. We invite you to expe­ri­ence the dif­fer­ence fel­low­ship can make.

Get Involved!

As you can imag­ine, this min­istry takes a small army of vol­un­teers.  We are always look­ing for peo­ple who would be will­ing to serve in this ministry. There are sev­eral ways you can get involved:

  • First, sup­port this min­istry with your pres­ence.  What many peo­ple don’t real­ize is that this min­istry is not about food; it is about fel­low­ship.  Attend the lunch each week or as often as you can and look for peo­ple who you don’t know or may be sit­ting by them­selves.  Sit down and intro­duce your­self and begin a con­ver­sa­tion and before you know it, you will have a new friend.
  • Sec­ond, we always need peo­ple who are will­ing to serve one Sab­bath every other month to help pre­pare and serve food.  If you think this is some­thing you would like to do, we will be happy to place you in a hos­pi­tal­ity team of 4 to 6 peo­ple who would love to have the help.
  • Third, once lunch is over, the hos­pi­tal­ity team cleans the Serv­ing Room and the Kitchen, but there is another team that helps clean the Fel­low­ship Hall.  These cleanup crews are assigned one Sab­bath a month and take respon­si­bil­ity to make sure all the tables are cleaned, trash is thrown away and every­thing is put away.
